Seth R. Freeman is CEO and co-founder of EM Capital Management, LLC, an emerging and frontier markets
specialist founded in 2005 in San Francisco. He is presently pursuing Impact-oriented private investments in China, India and Vanuato.
Seth’s investment experience includes organizing and managing emerging markets investment strategies include private (hedge) funds, private equity and a 40 Act India mutual fund. His cross-border expertise includes U.S., India, China, Vietnam, Greece and Mexico and work in Guatemala and Argentina. He is a frequent contributor on Bloomberg and CNBC and a sought after speaker for professional events and MBA programs at Wharton, HBS, Chicago Booth, Berkeley Haas, Thunderbird, Georgetown and has taught executive classes in New York, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai and Saigon.
Seth’s cross-cultural business expertise and effective complex problem-solving skills enable him to efficiently initiate, execute and manage a wide range of complex cross-border financial markets, private equity and distressed opportunities (and their related challenges and often, combative situations) as principal, partner and/or advisor. Seth is an advocate of emerging and frontier markets Socially Responsible investing (SRI) that incorporates ESG factors in investment decisions, monitoring and reporting.
Seth is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) with over twenty five years experience in U.S. and cross-border insolvency, restructuring, turnaround management and negotiating resolutions of complex international and cross-border situations; and under-performing operational improvement; asset-based financing; corporate and real estate finance. He provides professional fiduciary, litigation support and expert witness services. He is a former officer and director of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), Northern California Chapter. Seth is qualified to serve as a lobbyist to the California State Legislature on behalf of his clients.
